Greetings:
I am currently paid to be paranoid about the networks here on beautiful
downtown Hanscom AFB (MA). We have a mix of mainframes, mini's and PC-based
client/server networks running a mish-mash of operating systems. While my
primary concern is protecting our assets from the great unwashed out on the
Internet, I also have to deal with an increasing number of bright Lieutenants
and contractors who are far too enthusiastic about experimenting in the neat-o
realm of TCP/IP ("Hey kids, let's set up our very own Web server!")
While I will never completely rely on an automated process to handle any facet
of security, I am always on the lookout for tools (free or cheap, these are
your [U.S.] tax dollars I'm spending)that will releive the tedium that exists
between incidents.
I'll be lurking for the most part. But then, that's the kinda guy I am.
