I am nervous about account profiles monitoring for changes, because detection
of a change indicates that there was a (detailed?) profile of what normal
behavior is.

I'd rather have monitoring for various proscribed activities--and only those
activities.  With informed consent of the users, so that they know what
"no-nos" are.
