ANN for ids

Hi,
I'm a senior on EE from the Univ. of Southwestern Louisiana. I'm working on my
senior design, and we want to design a ANN. The application we want to implement
on this ANN is Network communications and security( intrusion detection) of a
TCP/IP based network. I was wondering if any of you know or are working on something
like this (I'll love to hear from these people!). And also if there is somekind
of public domain ANN (software) written for this purpose, somewhere.
