The introductory blurb says I should introduce myself.
My name is Janet Jackson; I am a freelance Unix consultant. I mainly work
on projects related to systems administration, so naturally I have a general
interest in systems security.
More specifically, one of my current projects is to design and implement
a security module for a vendor of systems management software. This will
include detection of intruders both at the point of [attempted] entry, and
through audit trail processing. The latter is the harder problem!
I am therefore interested in what approaches have been tried, and also
in what software is out there that my client's module may be able to
interface with.
