I agree with Der Spaff...

Look at Clipper. Very few people trust the gizmo
(I use Clipper as a generic descriptor for the
whole magilla) or the algorithm because of two
reasons - the people designing it and the secrecy
of the algorithm. Now look at PGP (fighting words!)
and the availability of the source code to the
public. When more then a few 'select' experts can
examine the code, a more collective evaluation is
reached...more objective, more detailed, and more
believable.

I don't discredit the government, they have their
reasons for nondisclosure, and can understand their
concern. But, as Joe Citizen I want to know that my
faith in an encryption package has been tested by
more than those on the GS payscale.

Is it Kix ceral that has the saying "Kid Tested Mother
Approved?"

If yes, I'd change it to:

"Community tested, Community Approved".

My $.02 and worth every dollar. Flames will be read
and sumararily sent to /dev/null. (I'm pretty sure
this goes to the list, if not, sorry, this is NOT
my usual machine and mailer)
