Hi, Name: Dana Nowell, email DanaNowell@corsof.com Company: Cornerstone Software Inc.; Nashua, NH USA I (along with others) handle mail, security, sysadmin, etc. for the network as a whole. I'm currently in the process of beefing up the number of alerts etc. on our network (hence the subscription). BTW, I have a simple tcpalert program that sits on a port and monitors for connection attempts, if anyone needs Yet Another One (most of us have several I'm sure). This one is written for modifiability and readability (in my opinion) if anyone needs source for one, email me (specify text, mime, uuencode, or binhex). If you already have several, you probably don't need another (especially one this simple). Bio: Too many years in this business, mostly as a developer. As the 'senior' developer I've been 'in charge' of most systems at places I've worked. Thus I have what might be called 6+ years part time sysadmin experience, and a gazillion years communications experience with everything from TCP/IP and DLC to async and bisync (remember bisync). I've had titles ranging from Senior Consultant to Head of Operations to interim VP for Software Development. I program on several platforms (Unix, Dos, Windows, NT, OS/2, and Tandem) in several languages. And as usual in this business, I am behind on my schedule, so if you'll excuse me ... Dana Nowell Work: DanaNowell@corsof.com Cornerstone Software Inc. Home: dnowell@mv.mv.com I don't even believe myself, why should you! (Standard disclaimer in force).
