A newer version is now available. Several other new reports have been added to the pages recently. We've also added an experimental interface to the archive -- your suggestions will be appreciated, as will any contributions. For those of you who haven't stumbled across it yet, the COAST archive is, to our knowledge, the largest single on-line repository of computer security papers and tools. We have over 17,000 separate file system entries, comprising almost 300Mb of "stuff". We have pretty much everything except cryptography code (for stupid export control reasons). The archive is available via ftp://coast.cs.purdue.edu/pub We support up to 25 simultaneous connections (average seems to be about 10), but your host must generate a reverse DNS record or you cannot login. We're currently seeing about 100Mb download traffic per day. The archive is also available via gopher://coast.cs.purdue.edu The COAST homepage, with links to the tech reports, projects descriptions, and archive links is http://www.cs.purdue.edu/coast If any of you stumble across code, reports, reviews, or other info you think we should have in the archive, please let us know at security-archive@cs.purdue.edu -- we'll be happy to link them in. --spaf
