On alarms and paging...

I was thinking, that since my company gave me this nice little pager that I
might use it to let my computer page me when something went wrong with it
or when someone starts doing something wrong.

Well, I have a fairly decent little system watching a few things, and it will
email me with a problem. I also wrote something that will watch for this
email, and parse some information from it and then it should page me. Problem
is, the modem hanging off my Sun workstation is not so easy to play with
as the one on my linux box at home. I can get it to page me only about
50 percent of the time. Not good. :( Does anyone have any working scripts or
code to use a Sun workstation to page someone with a normal numeric pager? Or
a clue on what to do? Our telecom guy has no clues for me.
