Just a small comment here: He who is without sin cast the first stone... (Bible passage) For the record, I don't care either way, I just have a few comments... If he hadn't mentioned he was a former hacker, no one would care. What's the big deal? Robert Morris is now making a living as a computer consultant isn't he? There are a good many security firms that employ ex-hackers (You'd be surprised if you knew who they were!?!). I'm sure 1 in 4 of you have even bought their products. Cut the guy some slack. Who's to say the legit guy you hire, doesn't turn around and take some confidential information back with him? Give the guy a break... _______________________________________________________________________________ From: ids@uow.edu.au on Sat, Feb 10, 1996 12:36 PM Subject: Former Hacker's Intro To: ids@uow.edu.au I wholeheartedly concur with the flame sent in response to the "former" hacker's introduction. This sort of individual bragging about his criminal background and his obvious expectations of attaining wealth as a legitimate entrepeneur are not unlike other organized criminals buying legitimate businesses with their ill-gotten gains. Rewarding these types with consulting business and publishing royalties only encourages other seemingly intelligent people to do the same - this is not on the job training, and costs businesses billions of dollars in losses and required, preventive measures! As an information systems auditor, however, it does provide me with additional job security!
