ISS and Netect (among others, I'm sure) make "host security" software. There are a number of commercial port scanners on the market, including ISS, Ballista and others. See http://www.secnet.com, http://www.iss.net & http://www.netect.com. I'm sure there are lots of other vendors out there. Hopefully, there is some robust freeware, as well. Hope this helps. --Eric
