Open Position as a Researcher in the
Network Security and Electronic Commerce group

A Career Opportunity at the IBM Zurich Research Laboratory

We have an opening for a Researcher in our Network Security and
Electronic Commerce group.

Our current activities include:

* IBM's Global Security Analysis Lab (GSAL)
* Secure Electronic Commerce on the Internet
    (http://www.zurich.ibm.com/Technology/Security/extern/ecommerce)
* Security Services in High-Speed Networks
    (http://www.zurich.ibm.com/Technology/Security/extern/ATM)

The open position is related to the work done in the Global Security
Analysis Lab.

Qualified candidates should preferably have a Ph.D. in Computer
Science or a related field. In particular we are seeking researchers
interested to work in the challenging field of intrusion detection.
Therefore, a solid background and research record in network security
and/or techniques applicable to intrusion detection (neural networks,
genetic algorithms, ...) are expected.

Candidates should have a strong inclination towards exploratory
thinking and creative research, and should be interested in all phases
of a research project, ranging from theoretical foundations and basic
design to prototype development.

The IBM Zurich Research Laboratory (http://www.zurich.ibm.com) employs
approx. 200 people from over 20 different countries. In addition to
security projects, our department is involved in a number of projects
dealing with mobile computer networking and distributed heterogeneous
information systems. Other departments of the Zurich lab conduct
research in the areas of broadband networking, wireless networking,
network management, physics, and optoelectronics.

We maintain scientific contacts with many universities and research
institutions around the world. Our group is involved in two
international security research projects in the European Union's
Research Programmes, and serves as the technical project leader in one
of them, SEMPER (http://www.semper.org).
