Oops - didn't see the bit in the 'welcome' about introductions... (bet you're all sick of the damn things anyway :-) I'm Jake Hill. I work at BT labs (Martlesham Heath) in the UK. I'm mainly interested in cryptography, but my work includes many security related things. I run a small unix network which gets used for development of protocols, evaluations, testing... My work has given me an interest in intrusion detection (that, and reading the Cuckoo's Egg). I have no real operational reason, since most of our systems are not directly accessable from the rest of the world. But, I hope that the techniques discussed here might be useful in a broader way, perhaps with applications in 'subliminal' authentication systems or maybe even the protection of smart cards. I heard about this list on firewalls. So there. That's me. Regards, Jake. Food for thought? Or mindless tripe?
